We won’t have to wait long for the next Coen Brothers film. Burn After Reading will be launched at the Venice International Film Festival in August and then will be coming to theaters near you on September 12th of this year.
As the Coen brothers often do they have switched gears for this movie. Their last film, the outstanding No Country for Old Men won 4 Oscars, was a severe and brutal look at a disturbed killer and the lethal path he blazed through the US south. The instant classic also featured relative unknowns, where the new film stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney, two rather well known fellas. From brutality to hijinks, similar to the way they followed up Fargo with The Big Lebowski.
In this new film some secret documents get left behind in a gym by G-man John Malkovich only to be discovered by the slighty too goofy Pitt. Both Pitt and Clooney have a knack for comedy. Paired with the writing of the Coen brothers Burn After Reading will surely be one of the most talked about films of the fall. Personally, I can’t wait.
