Things are going from bad to worse as California experiences worst spring drought in 150 years.
“We’re in a dry spell if not a drought,” said California Secretary for Resources Mike Chrisman. “We’re in the second year, and if we’re looking at a third year, we’re talking about a serious problem.”
Agriculture, which consumes about 80% of California’s water, is being hit the hardest. Many farmers are switching to crops that are less dependent on large volumes of water. A few avocado farmers cut all their trees down to stumps saying that they’ll wait until the water situation corrects itself before resuming their trade. It’s possible for farmers to switch crops but what of California Wine. It has taken some time but California wine has finally established itself as a respected wine. On top of the maturing of the California wine market there are tens of thousands of tourist that take part in California wine tours.

Facebook User-Friendly makeover in the works
It seems that those who run Facebook are gearing up to overhaul the site. I personally have not had any problems with the site but I guess a little tweaking here and there can’t hurt. Progress is good, right?
Perhaps the new changes will include an abandonment of those annoying applications that so many people seem to love so much. I’ve never understood why someone would want to invite me to an application that’s all about peas. Who likes peas? Nobody likes peas. Even peas don’t like peas. The reverend was up to his antics in New York City again, leading another riot. Seems to be about the only thing he is good at. He’s tried politics and failed. He’s tried acting - and if you’ve seen his appearance on Boston Legal you’d agree - he failed. He’s tried marriage and failed. He’s also tried education, at Brooklyn College, and failed. He’s tried debating (I’m thinking of the one with Christopher Hitchens here) and failed pretty badly. About the only thing he succeeded at was screwing the City of New York out of $200 000 in a settlement reached back in 2003. Read the rest of this entry »
